GoPoll is a web application for instructors to perform live quizzes in the classroom. The application uses Node.js and Socket.io to handle real-time data transfer and provided immediate feedback. Feedback comes in the form of charts for the classroom presentation view, current individual score for each student on his/her/their personal device, and a spreadsheet of gradebook records visible only to the instructor after ending the quizzing session.
Students scan an auto-generated QR code to be signed into a live quizzing session. Each student then confirms his/her/their identity using a Google authentication service matching a student ID with a university provided email address to ensure grade book consistency.
Each session is individualized to the instructor's specifications, allowing multiple choice, short answer, and true/false questions to be presented. Questions can be weighted, and grades can be exported to various file types for the instructor's convenience.
